How long can you drive without MOT?
The simple answer is, no, it's illegal to drive without an MOT. If your vehicle is more than three years old, you can't drive without an MOT unless you are driving to a pre-booked test at an authorized test centre. If you're hoping to use this as an excuse and you're caught on the way to work, be warned

Can I drive my car without MOT if it is booked in?
You are only allowed to drive your car when its MOT has expired IF you've booked in for the test and that's where you're driving to. If you're stopped on the way you MUST be able to prove that you have an appointment with an MOT centre.

Can speed cameras check MOT?
89 per cent of drivers support use of speed cameras to check insurance, MOT and road tax. Motorists are overwhelmingly in favour of speed cameras also checking if drivers have the correct documentation to be on the road.

What is a full service on a car?
A car service can involve up to 50 or more components, systems checks and adjustments including: An engine oil change and/or filter replacement. Checking lights, tyres, exhaust and operations of brakes and steering. Ensuring your engine is 'tuned' to run in its peak condition.

What tests are done for MOT?
An MOT involves dozens of checks on your car, ranging from the brakes and fuel system to lights, mirrors, seatbelts, windscreen wipers and exhaust system. It doesn't cover the condition of the engine, clutch and gearbox.
