FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brooklyn, NY ( connect2business ) July 22, 2013 - For more than two decades, Dr. Mollins has been practicing chiropractic care in Brooklyn. His specialties involve treating, diagnosing and documenting any injuries that are the direct result of an accident. Accidents can be in the form of a car accident, work accident, construction accident and slip and fall.

The main element to diagnosing the injured party is the examination. An exam provides an overview to develop a treatment plan and document all of the sustained injuries. Dr. Mollins provides you with careful and comprehensive exam for all patients. Physical exams involve a medical history, which helps to provide a complete overview of the patient's situation. It allows a valid treatment plan to be developed for the patient.

The key elements of Dr. Mollins treatment plan include:

- Observation - The minute he views the patient, he is already beginning the exam. It is imperative that the individual is carefully observed. Close observation allows Dr. Mollins to determine if they are in pain or protecting an injured part of their body. Watching the patient get onto and off of the table is another component of the exam as it shows whether they are favoring an injured part of their body.

- Inspection - The patient is carefully evaluated with the eyes to look for swelling, abrasions and bruising. He will look at the spine to determine if there is curvature. Muscle spasms can also be detected at this point of the exam process.

- Palpation - This involves feeling with the hands to help determine the size, texture, location, consistency and tenderness of body parts that are injured. Palpation assesses the tenderness in tissue deformation, textures of tissue and locates any spatial coordinates of landmarks.

- Range of Motion - Joints have specific ranges of motion when uninjured, so an injured joint will have limited range. Dr. Mollins will carefully examine the range three different times to make sure the reading is accurate. Once the range is determined, the severity and location of the injury can be determined.

- Orthopedic Tests - These tests allow Dr. Mollins to identify the area that is injured and develop a treatment plan. They test the spine, lower and upper extremities to evaluate for pain, muscle extension and joint play. This is a crucial component to the examination.

- Neurological Examination - All of the nerves will be tested to determine any potential damage from the accident. Whenever back and neck injuries are involved, this exam is critical. Bulging discs can affect the nerves of patients. Muscle strength, reflex testing and sensation are all part of this test. This exam will help to rule out a number of diseases.
