FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | 30/04/2013 |
Sequoia Technology, the UK’s largest Telit distributor and provider of GSM, GPRS and UMTS M2M Terminals, proudly announce the launch of the new ZETA M2M Terminal with GPS. Following on from the fantastic success of the ZETA 2G and 3G terminals, the new ZETA-G-UMTS has been designed to provide customers with global network coverage and location awareness.
It is also fully backward compatible to existing EDGE and GSM/GPRS networks through accomplished quad-band radios. The extensive interface set, which includes IIC and user definable GPIO, provides ease of integration of peripherals and actuators.
The ZETA-G-UMTS now comes with integrated full 12-channel high sensitivity GPS functionality for indoor fixes and simultaneous GPS with voice & data. With an extremely fast TTFF and accuracy of less than 3m, the unit also provides one DAC channel and a three channel ADC to provide extended functionality and adding value to the end application without adding cost.
The ZETA-G-UMTS terminal is packed with additional functionality in a compact design to allow easy integration into both new and existing designs as an alternative to a standalone module. This latest addition to the ZETA family of M2M devices is capable of operating around the globe on both 2G and 3G networks and boasts a low power fast TTFF high sensitivity GPS receiver making it even better.
Chris Oldham, the Wireless Modules and Terminals Product Manager said “This latest Terminal has been designed to fill the gap where GPS is required. Based on the Telit UMTS module with incorporated GPS this terminal will open up many more markets for our customers and at a price which is affordableâ€
Sequoia prides itself on ensuring its terminal range is fit for industrial use to ensure the terminals can operate effectively in a wide range of harsh environments where other similar terminals struggle to cope.
The ZETA Range of M2M terminals are suitable for a wide range of markets such as AVL, industrial telemetry solutions, data logging and now positional applications just to name a few. Further enhancements in the future include CDMA and LTE versions.
