FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | 23/04/2013 |
Montreal, Quebec ( connect2business ) April 19, 2013 - Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, announces immediate availability of Integrated Controller ICs from Fairchild, which help eliminate design constraints in LED lighting applications.
LED driver designers need solutions and technology choices to help address constraints such as smaller volume cavities and limited circuit board footprints, while still meeting efficiency requirements, regulatory standards, and reliability demands. Fairchild's integrated MOSFET solutions are the answer, enabling designers to choose from the smart non-isolated Power Factor Correction (PFC) buck LED driver FLS0116( http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/technologies/semiconductors/analog/drivers/mosfet-igbt-drivers/Pages/8026787-FLS0116MX.aspx ) with integrated MOSFET or the single stage PFC Primary Side Regulation (PSR) flyback FLS3217( http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/Search.aspx?dsNav=Ntk:PartNumberSearch%7cFLS3217%7c1%7c,Ny:True,Nea:True ) and FLS3247( http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/technologies/semiconductors/analog/drivers/led-drivers-linear-mode/Pages/8026212-FLS3247N.aspx ), both with integrated MOSFETs.
The FLS0116, FLS3217 and FLS3247 with their integrated MOSFETs are able to support designs targeting worldwide input voltages. These designs also integrate PFC, making these optimal solution knobs for low power LED applications. With the addition of the integrated power MOSFET, these devices help decrease design time since the MOSFET is included into the controller. Equipped with cycle-by-cycle current limiting and integrated protection features such as over-temperature protection (OTP) and under-voltage lockout (UVLO), these devices help to significantly improve LED system reliability.
The FLS0116 utilizes an "adopted digital" technique that automatically detects AC and DC input voltage conditions, enabling and disabling PFC functions while also offering programmable oscillation frequency and analog dimming and soft start functions. The FLS3217 and FLS3247 can support isolated flyback and non-isolated buck-boost topologies both with PSR technique as well as regulate accurate output current by using a precise constant-current control (CC) function and increase efficiency for an easier design with linear frequency control.
