Support Worker - Part-Time

And now, we’re looking for someone who shares our values to join the team as a Support Worker.

What does the role involve?As a Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in supporting adults with learning disabilities to live full, rewarding lives. Whether it’s helping someone manage their own home, attend a job interview, or simply enjoy a hobby they love no two days are ever the same.

You’ll work without direct supervision, using your initiative and compassion to:

  • Provide personalised, high-quality care and support in line with individual care plans
  • Promote choice, dignity, inclusion, and independence
  • Support daily living tasks including personal care, nutrition, and household tasks
  • Help individuals access work, education, and social opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with families, professionals, and your team
  • Be a Key Worker leading reviews, support planning and risk assessments
  • Carry out sleepovers as part of a 24-hour rota

What are we looking for?We’re looking for someone with a big heart, a level head, and a natural way with people. You’ll be someone who can work independently and take the lead when needed, but who’s also a brilliant team player.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience in social care (although it’s not essential we’ll provide full training)
  • SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or a willingness to work towards it
  • Basic IT skills you’ll use Microsoft Office and complete e-learning
  • A full understanding of what it means to work in a values-based and person-centred way
  • Most importantly, this role has a genuine occupational requirement (under the Equality Act 2010) for you to have a Christian faith and a willingness to work within and uphold CrossReach’s Christian ethos.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
