The role
You’ll deliver education and prevention programmes to children and young people in schools and colleges, educating them to identify healthy and unhealthy relationships and recognise how to stay safe from abuse. You’ll also provide tailored 1:1 and group support to children and young people, alongside supporting schools to identify and respond to domestic abuse through teacher training sessions.
Job requirements
Co-ordinate and facilitate the delivery of education programmes to children and young people (CYP) in schools and colleges.
Advocate for children and young people at child protection meetings, Child in Need (CIN) meetings, Team around the Family (TAF) meetings and any other necessary locality meetings.
Stay up-to-date with the ever-changing pressures that children and young people face, particularly around online safety and social media.
Promote the projects, all while establishing and maintaining good working relationships with other agencies and practitioners.
Work as part of a multi-agency response to meet the identified needs of children and young people. This might include providing reports for, or attending, meetings (e.g. MARAC and CP conferences) and advocating for them so that agencies understand and meet their needs.
Support CYPs to engage with both internal and external agencies to access services and help develop skills to achieve their goals.
What they’re looking for
Have (or be working towards) an NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent.
Minimum of one year experience of working with children or young people providing either 1:1 or group work/activities.
Experience of delivering support to children and young people recognising individual needs, e.g. developmental stage or any additional learning needs.
Experience of managing safeguarding concerns.
An understanding of the complexities surrounding domestic abuse and safeguarding and an understanding of the effects that domestic abuse has on children and young people.
The ability to work under pressure and use own initiative, with excellent communication skills.

Able to drive and have access to a vehicle for business use.
