Investment Analyst Writer

About Us

VCL Vintners is a leading alternative investment company specialising in casks of spirits — with a particular focus on Scotch whisky casks. From our headquarters in The Shard, London, we provide unique investment opportunities backed by in-depth industry insight, market intelligence, and a commitment to high-quality investor communications.

We’re growing rapidly and looking for a talented Investment Analyst Writer to help us shape the voice of whisky investment through clear, compelling, data-driven content.

The Role

This is a hybrid role that blends analytical thinking with high-quality written communication. We're looking for someone who is comfortable sourcing, compiling, and analysing data on their own — turning it into engaging reports, investor updates, and thought-leadership pieces tailored for our investor base.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of finance and markets, with a genuine interest in the global spirits industry, particularly Scotch whisky.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data-Driven Writing: Independently research and analyse industry data to create engaging, investment-led content

  • Investor Reporting: Write clear and concise investor updates, market reports, and commentary on portfolio performance and sector trends

  • Industry Analysis: Produce detailed reports on distilleries, whisky brands, and wider spirits market developments

  • Content Creation: Support creation of whitepapers, articles, and client-facing materials with an investment lens

  • Research & Insights: Monitor market movements, production trends, and pricing data across the global spirits industry

  • Editorial Strategy: Help shape the tone and structure of our investment communications to ensure consistency and authority

What We're Looking For
  • A strong writer with a data-led mindset and the ability to communicate complex topics clearly

  • Experience in investment writing, financial journalism, research analysis, or a similar role

  • Comfortable working independently without reliance on a broader analyst team

  • Familiarity with financial modelling, valuation principles, or alternative investments / assets is a plus

  • Deep interest in premium spirits, especially whisky, and willingness to build expertise in the sector

  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and an ability to meet content deadlines

Perks & Benefits
  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience

  • Private health insurance

  • Life insurance cover

  • Opportunities to visit distilleries and attend spirits industry events

  • Join a fast-growing company at the intersection of luxury, investment, and storytelling
