This is a key role, supporting the legal aspects of commercial contracts within a high-profile industry. Salary: up to £40,000 depending on experience - Negotiable
Working hours: 9 - 5.30 - Hybrid working - Part-time Available
Holidays: 25 days holiday plus bank

Key Responsibilities:


As a Commercial or Construction Solicitor, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and accurate management of formal contract documents, including agreements with contractors, clients, and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

  • Contract Review & Compliance: Conduct technical reviews of formal contract documents (e.g., Appointments and Collateral Warranties), ensuring consistency with company policies and industry standards.
  • Issue Resolution: Liaise with contractors and clients to raise and resolve queries related to formal documents, addressing potential issues using the "Red Flag" list.
  • Legal Updates & Proposals: Propose and implement necessary updates to contracts in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Fee Quotation Preparation: Review and prepare fee quotations that comply with company policies, ensuring accuracy and consistency across projects.
  • Collaborative Support: Work with internal legal teams to seek technical advice and ensure effective contract interpretation.
  • Prioritisation & Timely Delivery: Ensure that documentation is prioritised in line with client expectations, credit control, and regulatory timelines.
  • Template & Terms Maintenance: Maintain up-to-date fee quote templates and company-standard Terms & Conditions for relevant projects.
  • Record Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive project records, ensuring easy access when needed.
Key Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in Contract Management: Experience managing and reviewing formal contracts, ideally within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to reviewing and drafting contractual documents.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of standard fee quotation processes, Terms & Conditions, and industry-specific regulations is highly beneficial.
  • Proactive Problem Solver: A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to identify areas for process improvement.
