Great opportunity for an experienced maintenance assistant!

Lily Close is located in Rainham, Essex. It offers residential support for nine males and females with a primary learning disability diagnosis. We are located within a gated community, off a main road.

Our team are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people we support, providing them with the skills needed for them to live a healthier and happier life back in the community.

As a Maintenance Assistant your primary duty will be to ensure that our residents live in a home that is a safe environment for them that adheres to health and safety standards. You will need to work closely with the home management to ensure that all fixtures and fittings are in excellent condition and equipment is regularly serviced.

Duties will include:

  • Maintaining a well decorated, safe and comfortable environment throughout the unit, in line with quality standards, and follows work processes which comply with statutory regulations.
  • Identifying and reporting damage, faults and other related issues to line manager (and then actions as agreed) to ensure that environmental conditions continue to meet quality standards and statutory regulations.
  • Liaising with local contractors and pre-approved contractors on site, as required, providing local knowledge and guidance, in order that planned and preventative maintenance schedules can be completed in a timely fashion.
  • Carrying out regular safety checks including fire system test and legionella test
  • Working closely with the home manager on long term maintenance plans
  • Checking and repairing fixtures and fittings that may include lighting and heating
  • The role holder will be expected to undergo Manual Handling & COSHH Training, as well as partake in Priory’s mandatory training.

Knowledge/Education/Skills:

  • Basic numeracy, literacy, and digital skills are a minimum requirement for this post
  • Able to work within structure deadlines
  • Problem solving and flexibility
  • Able to work independently
  • One year experience is desirable but not essential
