Based in a quiet suburb of Northwood, on the outskirts of Watford. There are plenty of peaceful spots and social spaces to spend time in.Residents have a choice of five lounges, where they can grab a book and cosy up in one of the armchairs or catch up with loved ones over coffee and cake. There’s an inviting terrace on the first floor, large patio area and lots of garden space that residents are free to explore, too. The home also benefits from a cinema room, hairdressing room with nail bar too.
There"s a great atmosphere and the staff encourage residents to get involved as much as they’d like. To help residents feel at home, they take the time to get to know them. The home can then tailor activities to their interests and hobbies too. From activities such as community quizzes, crafts and flower arranging to tea dances and fetes, there is so much for residents to enjoy.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents
Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy
Monitoring stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines
Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You want to deliver an excellent service at each meal and make our residents feel at home. You’ll understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. Working with the wider kitchen and care home teams - you’re comfortable communicating with others, cherishing the little moments with our residents.
