The Role

Do you have experience in cleaning and take pride in keeping spaces spotless and welcoming? Are you looking for a role where your attention to detail and reliability make a real difference?

We are looking for two part-time Cleaning Operatives to help maintain the new public toilets on Acklam Road, ensuring they are clean, safe, and well-kept for public use.

In this role, you will be responsible for keeping the facility clean and presentable at all times. You will work to a structured routine, carrying out scheduled cleaning tasks and ensuring hygiene standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Open and lock the facility, returning the key to the Trust’s offices.
  • Ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and welcoming for users.
  • Follow an efficient cleaning schedule, using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Regularly clean and sanitise all toilets, basins, urinals, mirrors, and door fittings.
  • Sweep, mop, and polish floors as needed.
  • Restock toilet paper, soap, and other supplies.
  • Report low stock levels and any maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the Lone Worker policy.
  • Conduct routine checks to maintain hygiene and report any incidents.
  • Dispose of waste correctly and maintain a tidy environment.

The Person

Essential skills and experience:

  • At least three years’ experience in a cleaning role.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with the public.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and best hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete physically demanding tasks.
  • Reliable and trustworthy with good time management skills.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Desirable attributes:

  • Experience working in a public facility or high-footfall environment.
  • Familiarity with access control systems.
