Technologist (Part-Time)
We're currently recruiting for a Part-Time Technologist for one of our valued clients.

As a Technologist your role will focus on the design and development of new products for the resins portfolio, from concept through to manufacture. You will improve the performance and compliance of existing products and ensure cost-effective manufacturing processes. You will also work on product testing, collaboration with customers and suppliers, and troubleshooting product performance issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new resin-based products in accordance with project scope and timelines.
- Improve the performance and compliance of existing products.
- Stay updated on industry standards and legislative requirements for resin-based products.
- Work with suppliers and customers to develop technical specifications that meet high standards.
- Conduct laboratory testing to ensure products comply with UK and international standards.
- Collaborate with external test houses for appropriate product testing.
- Provide technical support to customers, manufacturing, and other internal stakeholders.
- Develop application techniques and installation guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 quality and environmental systems.
- Investigate and resolve product complaints, recommending improvements to formulations, QC, processing, etc.
- Ensure all work aligns with the company’s health and safety standards and Zero Harm vision.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the technical department.
Person Specification, Competencies & Attitudes:
Essential:
- BSc (Hons) in Chemistry or related field.
- Industrial manufacturing experience with a focus on chemistry knowledge.
- Understanding of formulations, raw materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Project management skills, including planning and resource management.
- Ability to understand cost implications of product changes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence others.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- High integrity and a responsible attitude.
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of resins and coatings applications.
- Experience with technical support and customer requirements.
- Clean driving license and willingness to travel occasionally.
- Familiarity with resins and coatings applications.
