We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Coordinator/Controller/Lead to manage the financial records of our diverse portfolio of clients. In this role, you will oversee bookkeeping activities across multiple client accounts while managing and training on-site and outsourced bookkeepers. Your key responsibilities will include maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, handling and reviewing VAT returns, management reporting, CIS reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations for each client.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping activities for multiple clients, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Manage and train bookkeepers, ensuring adherence to company standards and each client’s specific requirements.
Develop and implement strategies for both outsourced and in-house bookkeeping teams to maintain high levels of accuracy and efficiency across client accounts.
Review VAT returns, management reports, accounts, invoices, CIS, and payroll, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports for clients, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Liaise closely with clients to resolve queries raised by bookkeepers and provide clear answers to any client questions.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency in bookkeeping operations.
Monitor and report on the performance of outsourced bookkeepers, offering feedback and support to ensure high standards for all clients.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field, with a strong background in managing multiple client accounts.
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, financial processes, and accounting standards.
Experience in managing or training outsourced or remote teams is highly desirable.
Proficiency in bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, VT) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities, particularly in a client-focused environment.
