This post will help support the long term sustainability of DHI and especially to ensure the centres are managed effectively ensuring maximum benefit to the local community while remaining financially sustainable.
You would be part of a new staffing structure to include a Centre Manager and Centre Administrator alongside other Centre workers.
The aim of these roles would be to develop the centre through new projects / increased bookings / a new marketing plan and to develop a long term strategy for the venue to benefit the local community.

- Relevant experience in a managerial or leadership role, with a proven track record of achieving results and driving team performance.
DHI Venue Manager
Duties:
- Room Booking Management
- Preparing rooms for venue hire
- Ensuring policies and procedures are maintained and followed
- Licence requirements are reviewed and kept up to date
- Developing a long term plan for the centre ready for the venue lease review
- Managing venue staff and volunteers
Working with others:
- Networking
- Meeting and developing partnerships with local community organisations
Marketing and PR:
- Website review
- Improving and increasing social media presence
- Posters / leaflets
- Developing a digital mailing list
Financial Management:
- Help oversee the financial management of the centre
- Working with the DHI financial manager
Building Management:
- Managing building maintenance
- Venue Health and Safety and Risk Management:
- Handling customer inquiries and resolving issues
- Daily / weekly H&S checks
- Risk assessments for the venue / activities
Fundraising:
- Applying for external grant funding
- Planning and developing new projects with funding streams
- Project Management of externally funded projects
Training:
- Establishing a training programme for staff and volunteers
Other areas -Outcomes ideas:
- Increased long term bookings, generating more income (so these roles could be self sustaining in the future)
- New booking system
- A new marketing plan
- Stronger financial sustainability
- Increased range of services for the local community
- Improved venue management
- Improved H&S management systems
- And generally supervising staff and overseeing daily operations. Setting goals and objectives for the team. Delegating tasks and assignments to team members. Providing guidance and support to team members. Also to assist the general management of DHI in whatever way deemed necessary.
The post is presently part-time leading to a full-time Job
Part time ( Shift - work ) 30 hours per week
