Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Lecturer in Production Arts at our Chichester campus. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis,and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £26,716 - £41,659 per annum, pro rata.

The Lecturer in Production Arts role:

As our Lecturer in Production Arts, you will undertake teaching activities in the curriculum area, ensuring a high quality of provision, in response to learners’ needs and work collaboratively and innovatively with managers and colleagues to design, develop, manage and review programmes in the curriculum area. You will ensure that student needs are met in a responsive way, in line with the concept of inclusive learning.

Key Responsibilities of ourLecturer in Production Arts:

• To undertake teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
• To ensure that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
• To undertake administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
• To take an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
• To develop curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
• To understand personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
• To keep up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
• To participate in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
• Co-ordinate and supervise college events where production arts students are required to support

Our ideal Lecturer in Production Arts should have the below skills and experience:

• Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience
• Knowledge of current theatre practices
• Board knowledge of theatre practices
• In depth knowledge of theatrical health and safety
• Level 3 (or equivalent) in related subject
• Level 2 literacy and numeracy
• Have or be prepared to work towards an apprenticeship assessors qualification
• Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
• The ability to mentor young technicians through show-based projects
