TEST HOUSE MULTI SKILLED ENGINEER - ELECTRICAL BIAS

DESCRIPTION
As a Multi Skilled Test Engineer (Electrical Bias) you will help design, plan, commission, and support in the carrying out the required tests on subsea control fluids, systems, equipment, monitoring and controls systems and pumps. You will also participate in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that engineering test provisioning is consistent with company and client goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Plus, any other ad hoc duties required to fulfil the job role.
MAIN RESPONSIBLITIES
Develop the knowledge required to safely and correctly run all testing requirements.
Complete all reports and results for the attention of the Testing and Engineering Director.
Coordinate with the Testing and Engineering Director to plan, build commission and support the running of tests in line with internal and industry best practices to meet client objectives.
Provide support in resolving technical issues to ensure testing requirements are met, diagnosing faults and problem-solving hydraulics, pneumatics, instrumentation, and control systems.
Develop and maintain a strong practical working knowledge of the fluid control systems certification and qualification processes, to support the development of new test strategies and feasibility studies for new test equipment under purchase.
Build hydro/mechanical and electrical test circuits to support a wide variety of fluid and gas testing, such as high pressure, high temperature, destructive and NDT.
Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for the design, maintenance, and execution of tests. Produce test reports where required to document the work carried out within your role.
HSQE RESPONSIBILTES
It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with, and follows Company’s Health and Safety, Environment and Quality Management Systems and takes an active part in the compliance and improvement of the Management Systems.
The incumbent must report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with test items and equipment and systems.
The incumbent also has legal responsibilities for environmental legislation to follow.
The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for persons visiting them while on company premises.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have as a minimum:
HNC in Electrical, Hydraulic or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Strong working electrical controls knowledge.
Recognised Trade Apprenticeship.
Ability to read hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical system drawings and mechanical engineering drawings/plans.
Experience in the disassembly, inspection, repair, and test of hydraulic and electrical components.
The ability to accurately identify component condition.
Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft applications such as Excel and Word.
Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
Strong work ethic and time management.
Eye for detail.
Ability to work unsupervised with minimum direction.
The following is also desirable:
LabView or similar experience.
Full Driving licence.
