We are currently looking for a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a school in Basildon. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on students' learning while supporting teachers and staff.

Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the absence of the regular teacher. You will ensure that students remain on task, manage classroom behavior, and support the smooth running of lessons. This role is ideal for someone with strong classroom management skills who is looking to gain further experience in education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes during the absence of the teacher, ensuring that students are following the lesson plan and completing set tasks.
• Manage classroom behavior, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
• Provide support to students as needed, helping them to stay engaged and focused on their work.
• Ensure that students adhere to school rules and expectations.
• Communicate effectively with students and staff to ensure the lesson runs smoothly.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as marking attendance and managing resources.
• Report any issues or concerns regarding students to the relevant staff members.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Experience working in a classroom environment, ideally in a supervisory or support role.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain flexible and adapt to different subjects and age groups.
• A positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with young people.
• A good understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor training) is desirable but not essential.
