Salary: £28,279 (FTE £40,700pa)
Job Type: Permanent, part-time (26 hours over 4 days)

Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a dedicated HR Manager to oversee the daily operations of the human resources function. This role involves managing recruitment, retention, and performance management of staff, advising on HR matters, and contributing to the development of HR strategy. The HR Manager will ensure compliance with legislation and best practices, and produce HR management information for future planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct the HR team to deliver comprehensive HR services.
- Stay updated with employment legislation and recommend policy changes to ensure compliance.
- Provide training and coaching for managers on HR-related issues, including performance management, sickness absence, and appraisals.
- Offer clear advice on general terms and conditions of employment.
- Oversee the recruitment process, including advertising, administration, interviewing, contract preparation, and induction.
- Identify training and development needs, liaise with external providers, and monitor learning and development activities and expenditures.
- Maintain personnel files in line with data protection legislation.
- Ensure robust procedures, policies, and practices for data protection compliance.
- Advise on disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Provide advice on organizational restructuring
- Proactively manage sickness absence in collaboration with managers.
- Take responsibility for personal learning and professional development.
- Participate in local and national training and development opportunities.
- Work efficiently and flexibly through effective team collaboration, ensuring high standards in HR processes.
Experience required:
- Experience in a busy HR environment at a management level.
- Experience developing and updating policies in line with legislative changes and good practice.
- Strong working knowledge of employment regulations and legislation.
- Ability to resolve problems proactively and practically, with a hands-on approach.
- Valid driving license and access to a vehicle due to occasional travel
- Flexibility to travel across a wide geographic area with occasional overnight stays.
