Job Title: Pricing Data Manager

Salary Range: £60,000 - £70,000
Location: Bournemouth / Eastleigh

Pricing Data Manager:  The job holder will collaborate closely with the Pricing Functions, Fraud, Underwriting and EDS teams to manage the development, maintenance, and utilisation of the data platform and analytical outputs. This is aimed at enhancing risk pricing, fraud detection, price optimisation, and maximising income and profit.

Leveraging their pricing expertise and data manipulation skills, the job holder will provide both routine and customised data sets and analyses to support pricing, underwriting, and fraud prevention activities.

Main Responsibilities as a Pricing Data Manager: 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain and enhance the data platform and outputs, including reporting, upstream modelling, and model-focused extracts for key internal customers such as the Risk Pricing, Retail Pricing, Underwriting, and Fraud teams, as well as the wider business when needed
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of information used by the department
  • Adhere to GDPR and internal Ageas data governance requirements
  • Make recommendations on data availability, usage and analytics, and opportunities available through the data platform
  • To provide recommendations to the wider team on future innovation and development opportunities that enhance the flow of data through department and the subsequent insights and analytics.
  • Project management across all stages of the data lifecycle
  • Monitor and report the performance of Ageas products to help identify and recommend opportunities to increase profit and/or volume and implement the change and controls to monitor the impact.
  • Lead and manage the development of approximately four direct reports and the wider team through the personal development program

Skills and experience you need as a Pricing Data Manager: 

  • At least 5 year’s general insurance experience in a Pricing, Underwriting, MI or IT function.
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret data and make recommendations
  • Highly skilled in the use of a programming language, i.e., SQL, SAS, Python, Databricks and Snowflake
  • Familiarity with database design, data warehousing and data lineage/structures
  • Ability to deal with and influence colleagues at all levels of the business.
  • Capacity to learn new software tools for data manipulation
  • Experience of using analytics to solve complex business problems.
  • Proactive with the ability to improve efficiency and accuracy of undertaken processes.
