RSPCA Assured is celebrating 30 years of improving the lives of farmed animals.

In that time, we're proud to have worked with thousands of farmers - and all of the UK's biggest supermarkets - to help make the lives of millions of animals better.

Every year, we inspect almost 4,000 farms and other scheme members to ensure they meet strict RSPCA animal welfare standards - ensuring a better life for farm animals.

So when you see an RSPCA Assured label on meat, fish, eggs or milk products, it means the animal was cared for according to the RSPCA's standards from birth to slaughter.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Governance and Planning Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the RSPCA Assured team and wider organization. This role will involve ensuring adherence to governance frameworks, managing compliance requirements, and driving strategic initiatives.

What a day may look like for you

The role of Strategic Governance and Planning Manager is very varied, challenging and rewarding and no two days will be the same.

We have included a brief overview of what you will be doing. For a full description of the role, please refer to the attached role profile.

Governance and Compliance:

• Provide expert advice and guidance on governance matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Oversee the development and implementation of governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor and report on compliance performance, identifying and mitigating risks.
• Act as a central point of contact for governance and compliance inquiries.

Strategic Planning:

• Support the development and implementation of the RSPCA Assured strategic plan.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress.
• Coordinate and report on governance activities to key stakeholders.

Project Management:

• Manage and deliver ad-hoc projects as required, ensuring timely completion and achieving desired outcomes.
• Provide support to senior management on strategic initiatives.

Data Protection:

• Take ownership of the organization's GDPR compliance, ensuring data protection policies are up-to-date and adhered to.
• Oversee compliance processes and manage data protection risks.

What you'll bring:

To succeed within this role, it is essential that the post holder has the following skill set:

• Proven experience in workforce planning, scheduling, or operations management.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
• Proficiency in using workforce planning software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience in the agriculture or related industry is preferred.
• Experience with integrating workforce planning with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
• Knowledge of project management methodologies.
• Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) or other spatial analysis tools.
• Familiarity with performance management and evaluation techniques.
