The Guildford Locality Team are excited to be recruiting a permanent Assistant Team Manager (Social Worker qualified) to join our friendly team.

About the Team
We are a forward thinking, caring and diverse team, serving residents living in Guildford who need to draw on care and support. Our team works with residents over 65 who may need care and support, as well as those under 65 with physical disabilities, illness, or sensory impairments.
We work closely with carers, family members and partner organisations to enable residents to live their best possible life, without leaving anyone behind. Our professional team is made up of Social Care and Occupational Therapist Assistants, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists. We are committed to learning and development, both at an individual and team level. We offer internal training to share knowledge and skills and have monthly reflective practice sessions to accommodate continuous learning. We promote team development and support newly qualified staff and trainees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
We also have our Surrey Academy for Adult Social Work which ensures that the offer of creative learning and development to Surrey staff is excellent.
About the Role
As an Assistant Team Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of a busy, dynamic team, effectively prioritising daily challenges and expectations. You will support the Team Manager to deliver high quality, personalised adult social care. Additionally, a key accountability of the role is developing staff practice ensuring the team you work within is the best it can be.
We understand the challenges of day-to-day frontline social work and have put tools in place to improve your work/life balance and make day-to-day tasks more manageable. We have created an environment to put you in the best place to do your work in a more agile way, working from home, office, or other locations as appropriate.

Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area.
