Part Time Financial Controller

Are you an experienced senior finance professional who would like to take on a varied, diverse and interesting Financial Controller position on a part-time, permanent basis?

Transparent is pleased to support this diverse group of companies in this key piece of recruitment. As a direct support to the Managing Director, you would act in the capacity of a true finance business partner, advising and supporting on all financial matters.

Working over 3 days per week, your role would include:

Accounting and Financial Management

  • Introduce month end procedures for the Group.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
  • Administer payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)

  • Lead financial due diligence efforts for M&A projects, including analysing financial data, identifying risks, and evaluating synergies.
  • Collaborate with external advisors, legal teams, and other stakeholders during M&A transactions.
  • Assist in preparing financial models, valuation analyses, and post-acquisition integration plans.
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment for acquisitions, including purchase price allocation and consolidation of financial results.

Compliance and Audit

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and file year-end reports, financial accounts and financial returns for all companies in the Group and liaise with tax authorities when necessary.
  • Oversee R&D claims

Strategic Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyse financial performance and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Monitor cash flow and recommend strategies for optimal working capital management.
  • Create financial reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.

Process and System Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting systems, processes, and controls.
  • Implement best practices for efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Investigate grants schemes etc that would be beneficial to the Group

The Person:

- Experienced and professional senior finance professional

- Experience of Sage Line 50

- Good analytical skills as well as Excel skills

- Excellent communication skills

- Team player

In return, our client is offering a competitive base salary together with the usual benefits. This is on on-site position over 3 days per week and the remuneration advertised reflects a pro-rata salary.
