Finance Manager

A leading school based near Croydon in Surrey seeks a permanent AAT-qualified or ACCA/CIMA Part-qualified Finance Manager to join their team. Reporting to the business manager, you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient school financial management. Please note that this opportunity is office-based, candidates seeking a part-time position may be considered on a pro-rata salary.

Requirements of the Finance Manager role:

  • To prepare monthly management accounts and commentary 
  • Budget preparation and monitoring and ensuring yearly balance of accounts 
  • To review BACS payments and ensure suppliers are paid promptly
  • Ensure sales and receipts are received on time
  • Manage monthly payroll process via the external payroll providers
  • Reconcile VAT returns 
  • Monitor cash flow 
  • Reconcile bank statements, follow up on any unreconciled items 
  • Manage year-end process  
  • payroll process via the external payroll providers
  • Supervise the Finance Assistant, train and develop staff as appropriate
  • To manage your own time effectively and demonstrate initiative, including establishing priorities within your workload
  • Experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential
