The Role

As an Accountant, you will play a key role in the finance team, reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant and Finance Director. You’ll have the chance to contribute to the college’s financial success while supporting the implementation of a new financial system.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the college’s annual financial statements.
  • Supporting the implementation of a new financial system, launching July 2025.
  • Leading month-end tasks, including management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparing the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Overseeing the preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Supporting the annual audit of financial statements.

Working Arrangements:

  • Full-Time or Part-Time: Flexible for 3-4 days per week working.
  • Hybrid Working:
  • Interim Contract: 2 days in the office per week.
  • Permanent Role: 4 days in the office, with some flexibility.
  • Contract Length: 12-month FTC (with potential for day rate) or permanent hire.

What We’re Looking For

  • While sector experience is flexible, we are seeking a qualified Accountant with:
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Experience with month-end processes, financial statements, and audits.
  • An ability to work collaboratively in a small, high-performing team.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach.
