R&D Tax Manager (Part-time)

Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified and experienced R&D Tax Manager to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing and managing R&D tax claims, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and client satisfaction. This role offers hybrid/remote working flexibility. The successful candidate will start immediately and work approximately 12-15 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and submission of the finance side of R&D tax claims, ensuring compliance with relevant tax legislation and guidance.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to gather required documentation and understand their R&D activities.
  • Provide expert advice on R&D tax credit eligibility and support clients throughout the claims process.
  • Review the technical reports to support R&D tax relief claims.
  • Liaise with HMRC as needed to address any queries or provide additional information.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant R&D tax legislation and industry trends.
  • Develop and implement best practices for R&D tax claim preparation and submission.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure seamless service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant or chartered tax adviser (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA).
  • Experience in preparing R&D tax credit claims, with in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Proficiency with tax and accounting software.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: £39,000 - £49,000 pro rata.
  • Part-time position (12-15 hours per week).
