The role of Finance Assistant supports two Accountants and takes primary responsibility for the Purchase Ledger function.
The position is being recruited on a part-time basis 25-30 hours a week, based on-site in beautiful surroundings. Days & times worked are flexible.
Purpose of the Job
Accounting, purchase ledger, administration support to the finance team.
General support to the needs and demands of the Trust finance related functions and projects.
Responsibilities
Taking care of administrative tasks, such as correspondence, filing dealing with daily post
Be the first point of contact for accounts payable including staff and volunteers expenses and assist with accounts receivables process
Maintaining accurate and detailed customer and vendor records and creating new customer and vendor accounts where necessary
Building a good relationship with internal and external stakeholders and providing the accounts team with relevant information
Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
Collecting monthly direct debits and preparing supplier payment runs
Preparing and entering journals into the system
Supporting the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties
Reconcile accounts at regular intervals; reporting discrepancies, mistakes or potential fraud to senior management in time including supplier statement reconciliations
Assisting in annual audit exercise
Assist in any ad hoc projects required

An excellent work ethic, organisational and time-management skills to ensure deliverables.
Computer literacy and a working knowledge of accounting packages and other relevant applications, such as spreadsheets
Solid understanding of financial systems and processes
Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and make recommendations
The ability to function well in a team, as they need to provide support as needed
