Salary: £20,000 - £22,000 per annum

Huddersfield Golf Club, one of Yorkshire’s premier golf clubs, is seeking a Finance Manager to join our dedicated team. As a private members club, we pride ourselves on providing an outstanding experience for our members, whether they’re playing golf, attending events, or enjoying our hospitality offerings. We are looking for a Finance Manager who shares this commitment to excellence and can support our club’s continued growth and success through accurate financial management and proactive reporting.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking someone who is not only proficient with financial management but also takes pride in providing exceptional customer service to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Reporting to our General Manager, you’ll be a key partner in assisting across our other departments of Marketing & Events and also Hospitality teams. In using your proven skills to deliver accurate and insightful financial reports, ensure compliance, and form a key corner in ensuring the club’s continued profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounts: Prepare and present monthly accounts and work closely with the General Manager and auditors to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.

Financial Reporting: Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and manage statutory reports for Companies House.

VAT and Corporation Tax: Handle VAT for our operations these include food services, golf activities and various internal and external functions and events. Preparation of Corporation Tax returns, maximising available tax reliefs.

Cash Flow and Working Capital: Monitor liquidity and maintain efficient cash flow monthly, especially during off-peak seasons. Assisting in our Budgeting process.

Payroll & Taxes: Oversee payroll, ensuring compliance with PAYE, National Insurance Contributions, pensions, and employment laws.

Internal Reporting: Provide financial insights and analysis that help inform operational decisions and support our teams in driving the business forward.

What You’ll Bring:

Experience: At least 3 years in finance management or a similar role, with a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.

Customer-Centric Approach: A service-oriented mindset, with excellent communication skills to engage with colleagues and club members in a professional, friendly manner.

Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.

Tech-Savvy: Experience with accounting software (preferably Croft) and advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP).

Education: A degree or relevant qualification in finance, business, or accounting is beneficial, but not essential if you have the right experience.
