TimePlan Education are looking for an exceptional part-time Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Southwark. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all our clients pupils thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

About the Role

  • Location: Southwark PRU
  • Hours: Part-time (3 or 4 days per week)
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring all policies and procedures are rigorously implemented.
  • Support staff in identifying and managing child protection issues, providing expert advice and training.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies, including social care, health, and the police, to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Maintain meticulous records and ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding requirements.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and staff, fostering a culture of safety and inclusivity.

About You

You'll be:

  • Experienced in safeguarding and child protection, ideally within an educational or alternative provision setting.
  • A natural leader with a proven ability to manage complex and sensitive situations.
  • Empathetic and resilient, with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Skilled in building relationships and confident working with multi-agency teams.
  • Familiar with statutory safeguarding frameworks and best practices.
