Weddings & Events Co-ordinator

Summary

You’ll be responsible for co-ordinating and delivering all aspects of our weddings offer, ensuring a memorable and seamless experience for our couples. You’ll also be involved in supporting the delivery of our annual events & activities programme. If you’re enthusiastic about creating unforgettable moments we’d love to hear from you.

This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 1170 hours per year and on average, you'll work 22.5 hours per week but again, this will be flexible depending on operational demand. This will be discussed further at interview stage.

Internally you'll be known as a 'Weddings & Functions Co-ordinator'.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to and working alongside the Senior Visitor Experience Officer, you'll join a small, busy team where you’ll play a proactive role in the delivery of weddings and other events. Due to the nature of the role, regular weekend working and occasional evening work will be required.

What you'll be doing

You’ll manage all aspects of wedding preparation and delivery, including decorating the space and moving & arranging furniture, liaising with suppliers, managing volunteers, welcoming guests, coordinating drinks receptions, clearing down the event, and handling any last-minute issues that arise. You’ll also take a lead in the promotion and publicity of weddings. To a lesser extent, you’ll support the Senior Visitor Experience Officer with the delivery of our wider events & activities programme, ensuring visitors leave with great memories of our beautiful site. 

Who we're looking for

To deliver this role successfully, you'll need: 

  • experience in event planning or event facilitation
  • communication and interpersonal skills, to build relationships with wedding couples, promote our venue, and enhance our reputation
  • organisational skills, including time management skills, and the ability to multi-task to ensure weddings and events are planned and delivered smoothly
  • people skills, to develop positive, effective working relationships with team members, volunteers, & suppliers
  • customer service skills, to appropriately respond to enquiries and feedback, and effectively support wedding couples, guests, and other visitors
  • digital literacy skills, to communicate effectively, maintain accurate records, monitor enquiries, and create promotional materials
  • the ability to adapt to change and unexpected demands whilst acting professionally at all times
