Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Oxford (Hybrid - minimum 2 days a week in the office)
Hours: Part-Time (3 full days or 5 part days a week, Full-Time Equivalent 37.5 hours per week)
Job Overview: As a Finance Assistant, you will work closely with the Associate Finance Director to support various financial functions. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of finance tasks, contributing to the overall success of the business by delivering tasks on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and close job codes in Xero as required.
- Process daily accounts payable invoices in icompleat and transfer to Xero.
- Reconcile credit card transactions.
- Assign job numbers to supplier invoices in Xero.
- Prepare payment runs in Xero on a bi-monthly cycle.
- Raise sales invoices to clients using Xero and Ariba.
- Monitor accounts receivable and perform minimal credit control.
- Assist in month-end closing and the preparation of monthly MA reports.
- Perform basic reconciliation and account analysis.
- Order childcare vouchers in line with payroll instructions.
- Provide holiday, sickness, and absence cover for travel arrangements.
- Generate purchase order numbers for regular suppliers and freelancers monthly.
- Share responsibility for answering calls on the main line.
- Undertake other ad hoc finance and administrative duties as needed.

Experience and Skills Required:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of transactional finance and basic bookkeeping.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with finance software packages; experience with Xero is highly desirable but not essential.
