Client Accountant

• Job Type: Part-time (22-28 hrs per week, flexible across 3-5 days)
• Location: East Grinstead Area
• Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (FTE), depending on experience

Reed Accountancy is currently seeking a Client Accountant on behalf of our client. The ideal candidate will be adept in cloud accounting software and possess a strong background in client relationship management, offering exceptional accounting and bookkeeping services.

This role is pivotal for someone with a proactive stance on the Making Tax Digital (MTD) initiative and requires at least 3 – 5 years of practice experience in an Accounts role, with an AAT qualification being highly desirable.

Day to Day of the role:

• Plan and prepare Quarterly VAT returns for a diverse range of clients, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
• Oversee the work quality of other staff members.
• Prepare the groundwork for year-end accounts for various entities, including Sole Traders, Partnerships, and small Limited Companies.
• Collate personal tax information as part of the year-end accounts preparation.
• Stay informed and maintain a positive approach towards MTD changes.
• Provide excellent client service through confident communication and expert advice.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 – 5 years of practice experience in an Accounts role.
• AAT qualification is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in widely used cloud accounting software.
• Solid experience with VAT returns and year-end account preparations.
• Informed and positive about the MTD initiative.
• Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
