Location: Walthamstow Forest, London
Job Type: Part-time, Permanent, 25.5 hours per week
Salary: Qualified Teacher- (£24,042 - £30,600)
Unqualified - £20,400
MLK Education Search are seeking to appoint a knowledgeable Software Development Tutor to join an Outstanding college. This role is perfect for industry professionals looking to transition into teaching through the fully funded Taking Teaching Further scheme. This scheme offers 6 months of reduced timetable for training while receiving full pay and lesson cover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver exciting lessons supporting learner progression, that relate to their needs and interests
- Promote safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding (CPOMS)
- Record attendance and academic notes on Arbor MIS
- Track learner progression on the allocated Google Sheets
- Develop innovative opportunities for interdepartmental and intradepartmental project collaborations
- Use a range of assessment methods and provide outstanding and prompt feedback to inspire learners
- Complete learner one-to-one tutorials and individual learning plans on a bi-termly basis
- Facilitate the wide range of enrichment trips and guest speaker events arranged across the year
- Work towards a stable learner retention and qualification achievement rate
- Undertake in-house training to remain up-to-date with awarding body expectations
- Support learners to prepare for their assessed end-of-year project.
Qualifications:
- Good understanding of Django/Python Language, HTML, CSS & JavaScript
- Experienced in SQL and relational databases, legislation, and regulatory requirements
- Design documentation & repository (GitHub)
- Computer engineering (Hardware & Software) and networking
- Information analysis, understanding business needs & requirements, and deriving the best system solution.
- Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent (Level 2)
- Degree/relevant qualification in the subject area
