Team Leader – Supported Housing Queens Road, Peckham

Dinardo Care and Supports Ltd provide an extensive supported housing service for a large number of adults with wide ranging mental health needs across South London covering Catford, Lewisham, Peckham, Norwood and Croydon.

The company has ambitions expansion plans over the next 12 months and as a result we have new opportunities for Team Leaders at our new service in Peckham, South London. You will form part of an established, committed team who make a vital contribution to the effectiveness of our operation, which places the wellbeing of our residents at the heart of everything we do.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week. 9am – 5pm and 10pm – 7am with 30-minute unpaid break

Salary: £33,600 per annum

About the role of Team Leader:

·       Form part of the Service Delivery Team, reporting to the Group Manager and working closely with other Team Leaders and the wider team.

·       To ensure a comprehensive support service is provided to the residents of our units and to lead the team to ensure a safe and effective support provision is maintained to meet and exceed the needs of our residents.

·       Work closely with Mental Health Recovery Support Workers to ensure their case load is managed effectively and that resident outcomes are person-centered with continuous improvement.

·       Maintain effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders promoting an efficient and professional approach.

·       Out of hours cover for advice and guidance as necessary on a rota basis.

·       Ensure the Unit/s is adequately staffed at all times.

·       Overall responsibility for resident personal finances.

·       In line with company policies and procedures to conduct team member appraisals and supervisions as required and any gaps or training needs identified.

·       Manage poor performance as necessary and seek guidance from the HR team to support the process effectively.

·       Ensure that complaints, incidents, accidents, and safeguarding concerns are raised and dealt with in line with guidelines in a timely and professional manner.

·       Concise and factual report writing skills for case conferences, the courts, review and CPA meetings, etc

·       Ensure the building is maintained in line with H & S regulations and any maintenance issues dealt with in a timely manner in conjunction with the Maintenance Team.

·       Support with recruitment of new team members

·       Attendance of meetings and sharing of updates, outstanding issues and lessons learnt.

·       Involvement in community activity

About you:

·       Experience and understanding of the issues faced by people who are homeless or vulnerably housed.

·       Maintain a co-operative and understanding relationship with colleagues, residents, and external stakeholders.

·       Previous experience in leading teams for success within a supported accommodation setting

·       Maintain a professional appearance and encourage teams to do likewise.

·       Tenacity and professional, positive approach to ensure continuous results are achieved.

·       Able to find solutions in challenging situations.

·       Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and IT.

·       Ability to write factual, concise, and accurate reports.

·       Demonstratable experience of safeguarding principles and procedures

·       Understanding of Strengths-based practice, Psychologically Informed Environments PIE, Stages of change model or trauma-informed principles this would be an advantage.

·       Adhere to company policies and procedures.

·       Flexibility to travel to other units if required by the business.

·       The role is subject to Enhanced DBS – Disclosure and Barring Service (Criminal Record check).
