Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Empowering Learning is currently seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a secondary school in Rainham, Essex. This is an exciting part-time opportunity to make a positive impact in education and support students' learning and development. The position is available for a September start, with a schedule from Tuesday to Thursday.

Role Overview: As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a crucial role in assisting teachers and supporting the learning needs of students within the secondary school setting. You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality educational experiences, provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, and contribute to the overall positive learning environment of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Provide targeted intervention and support to students with varying learning needs
  • Lead small group activities and assist with classroom management
  • Contribute to the planning and preparation of learning resources
  • Assist with the assessment and monitoring of student progress
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or relevant experience working in an educational setting
  • A passion for supporting the learning and development of students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
