Facilities Co-ordinator

Summary

Do you enjoy being part of a team with a cause? Do you want to help care for important historic buildings and estates?

We're looking for a Facilities Co-ordinator to keep the National Trust Houghton Mill site in tiptop condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit and love the area.

What it's like to work here

Reporting Facilities Manager, you'll work closely with the Visitor Experience Officer.

You'll meet and work with a variety of different small departments, including external contractors, members of the public, and volunteers. If you like the challenge of no two days being the same, mixed in with a shared drive to maintain and support our compliance needs, then this may be the job for you.

Houghton Mill is the last flour-producing historic watermill on the River Great Ouse, standing at five storeys high, with a recently renovated waterwheel and two sets of working millstones. The Mill is supported by a National Trust Tearoom, and works alongside the Waterclose Meadows Campsite Holidays Team.

What you'll be doing

As the Facilities Co-ordinator, you’ll be making sure that Houghton Mill operates as it should, by running an efficient, effective and flexible facilities service. You’ll help the property team to meet their goals by keeping standards high. You’ll be helping with maintenance and repairs (reactive, as well as planned and preventative), cleaning and caretaking (The Mill and the Tearoom), the presentation of public areas and visitor facilities (including car parks and grounds), preparing meeting rooms and co-ordinating deliveries and collections.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.
