Credit Controller

Our clients, a growing debt recovery firm is looking to add to their team in Mid-Norfolk. They are looking for a Credit Controller to manage / maintain strong client relationships and chase debts on their behalf.

While prior experience in credit control or legal processes would be preferred, it is not essential. The right candidate will receive opportunities for career development and advancement within this expanding business.

  • Monday to Thursday 
  • 9.00 AM - 4.00 PM

Credit Controller requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar role within the debt collection or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of credit control processes and debt recovery methods.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in debt collection.
  • Proactive approach to resolving issues and a strong sense of initiative.
  • A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Key duties of the Credit Controller will include but will not be limited to:

  • Monitor and manage the company's accounts receivable portfolio to ensure timely collection of debts.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients to promote timely payment of invoices.
  • Conduct credit checks and assess creditworthiness to mitigate financial risks for clients
  • Prepare and send out statements, reminders, and collection letters in a timely manner.
  • Negotiate payment terms and repayment plans for debtors on behalf of clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions related to debt recovery.
  • Analyze overdue accounts and identify patterns or issues that may require escalation.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance in all credit control activities.
